A journey through the menu at Henry's Hunan

Smoked Ham
Date completed:  Monday December 16th, 2002
Today started out miserably. Bus ride to work took an hour, and it was completely packed. On it, I had to listen to a man who was going deaf talk about how great beards are with another man who was kind of out of touch with reality . Apparently the deaf man's heroes growing up were the Smith Brothers cough drops guys. The slightly out-of-touch man was replying at the same time that the best present you can give is a "meow cat". To be honest, I didn't have very high hopes for this section (smoked items), because I had already tried Marty's Special before I started the menu, and, though it's a favorite with this group, I had always thought it was a little salty. And to top it off, it was taking forever (during the heavy lunch hour, sometimes it can take a while for the food to arrive, and it can be long after everyone else is finished). But what arrived happened to be the best dish so far! It has all the classic Henry's ingredients: bamboo shoots, bell peppers, garlic, red peppers. And the ham is absolutely perfect. Bravo! Thank you, Henry, for restoring my faith in humanity!!!
