A journey through the menu at Henry's Hunan
Item # 65:
Vegetable Chow Mein
Date completed:  Tuesday May 13th, 2003
One would think that doing this sixty-five times, I would by this time be able to accurately predict whether the dish is going to be any good or not. Now I honestly have to say the noodle dishes haven't been the greatest so far. Those noodles were pretty thick and I don't like eating out of a bowl during lunchtime. This one, though, the noodles (I believe they are called "chow mein" noodles from the Latin word "chow" meaning food and the English word "Main", meaning central, or different) were about 1mm thinner, had a lot of sauce on them this time, and were swimming in a sea of vegetables that were all cooked just right. There was also an unfounded fear that it would be too cold. Not to worry. I was overall very pleasantly surprised by this and I will eat it again and again. Well, ok not really, because there are about 10 dishes that I like more, but if I was in some sort of strange situation like this again where my choice on this menu was limited to vegetarian noodle dishes again, I'd be all over it. Like brown on chow mein noodles.
